At The Leigh Academy we are proud of our Post 16 results again this summer. Despite the challenges of the new more rigorous courses our students have achieved well. A high number of our students have been successful in gaining places at their first choice universities. We are delighted that our students have 100% pass rate in our vocational courses with an average grade of Distinction. In our A Levels we have achieved above national average in Maths, photography, Fine Art and textiles. Athavan Ramalingam – A in maths, A in Dutch, merit in engineering and an E in physics and is going to going to university after a gap year.
Jake Hatch C in business, B in finance and a distinction in ICT and is going to University of East Anglia to study accountancy and finance.
Annabel Aitkin – C in business, B in English literature and B in history and going to read English at university.
Hannah Vanstone, opening her results with Mrs Julia Collins, Principal, gained B in fine art, B in graphic communications and C in product design and is delighted with her results and looking forward to her gap year, before studying Engineering Design at Coventry University.
Chloe Barton with Mr Forcella Burton, Director of Post-16 – A in photography, distinction in health and social care and distinction in ICT will be taking up a position in the NHS.
Mr Stewart Dearsley, Director of Learning for MFL, with Miguel Martinez-Lozano, who has only been in the UK since 2016 yet achieved C in his extended project, B in French, A in Spanish and D in history. Miguel will be studying law and French at Westminster.
