Students: YR 9 and 10 BTEC Dance Students
Loop Dance Company ran a fantastic Contemporary Dance workshop with our Year 9 and 10 BTEC students. In support of the Movement Skills Unit, students were introduced to basic movements and then developed these to create travelling combinations. At the end of the workshop, 12 students were scouted to audition for the Youth Dance Company, who train at Trinity Laban Centre in London. Another great connection for LA Dance department.
Year 9-11 BTEC dance students participate in Urban workshops with Industry Professionals on a regular basis. The workshops are challenging and energised, but enjoyable for all students (and staff!) that join in and are highly beneficial to the BTEC course.
So far this academic year students have experienced Lockin, Poppin, Breakin and Hip Hop.

Students participate readily in the wide range of sports, social, art, music and drama activities that the school provides. Many students attend the after school and weekend revision clubs that staff provide.Ofsted
The school organises the wide range of subjects it teaches extremely well, and reviews them regularly, adjusting its provision to meet the changing needs of students.Ofsted
Teaching is challenging. It is based on accurate assessment of how well students make progress, what their individual learning needs are, and what kinds of activities will best make sure that they learn well.Ofsted
Students make outstanding progress in English and mathematics. Students’ progress in business, design and technology, ICT and physical education is also outstanding. Students make good progress overall.Ofsted
