Stephen Pan presents to the Post 16 students at The Leigh Academy

Stephen Pan left the Leigh Academy in 2015 having successfully completed his A levels. It is always a pleasure to invite former students into the Academy to speak about their journey into the workplace.

Following his A levels, Stephen had thought about going to university to study Politics but he looked into the cost and decided to re-think his career.

He worked in a variety of settings including sales, recruitment and retail before he found his opportunity as a Trainee Construction Manager at Mace.

He presented to the Post 16 students on the different roles that are involved in the construction industry at Mace Construction.

Stephen spoke about a number of different exciting building projects that Mace have been involved with which include The Shard, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and The Coca Cola London Eye.

Stephen is currently studying a HNC at London South Bank University to support his work at Mace. He spoke how he is being paid to work, has his travel expenses paid for and Mace are paying for him to go to university.

Mace has a number of open day events that will be coming up where our students can attend to find out more about some of the exciting apprenticeship opportunities.
