World Book Day 2017

On Thursday 2nd of March The Leigh Academy hosted a Harry Potter Day in order to celebrate World Book Day. Staff and students were able to dress up in robes, scarves or any item of clothing that involved JK Rowling’s wonderful world of Harry Potter.

The school was decorated with ‘wanted’ Azkaban posters of teachers and key terminology was put up around the academy with their definitions; such as spells and creatures. Classrooms had Hogwarts class names on their doors; such as Transfiguration, Charms and Care Of Magical Creatures.

Each Learning Area had an activity celebrating Harry Potter Day. The PE learning area were teaching students how to play quidditch; the sport in which wizards and witches fly around on broomsticks, and Cucina produced a spellbinding menu. Various competitions took place for best costume in the library for those dressed up for the occasion.

Overall the day was a huge success and was enjoyable and fun for both students and staff alike. Leigh TV was there to cover the event.
