Trust Sports Day July 2017

Monday 10th July was the date in everyone’s diary when all the secondary schools within the Leigh Academies Trust descend to Dartford Harriers track in Dartford to compete for the sort after ‘Leigh Academies Trust Sports Day Trophy’.  Due to the increase in size of the Trust each academy competed rather than the traditional individual colleges. Regardless of the change, the day retained its high levels of competition, enthusiasm for each event and outstanding performances across each year group. With over 500 students competing on the day the results came rolling in & each academy performed to a very high standard. Medals were awarded by former Leigh Academy student and now GB athlete Megan Edwards, who was an inspiration to all the students on the day. The academy relays provided the most excitement with some seamless baton changeovers that even the GB team would have been proud of.  As the relay races came to end everyone waited with great anticipation to hear the final results.  The Leigh Academies Trust winner 2017 went to ….The Leigh Academy!

A special mention must go the PE staff members of the Leigh Academy who organised the event for everyone.
