At The Leigh Academy we are delighted once again with our GCSE results. Our staff and students have risen to the challenges of the new GCSE specifications and proven their tenacity and dedication. 72% of our students achieved a 4 or above in English language or literature and 64% of our students achieved a grade 4 or above in maths. We are also particularly pleased with the significant increase in modern foreign languages and humanities results. Students have excelled in photography, fine art, graphics, textiles, engineering and every student achieved at least one qualification in an ICT subject at C/4 or above.
We have achieved grade 9s in art, biology, chemistry, English language, maths and photography which places our students amongst the top achievers nationally.
Mrs Julia Collins, Principal said “I am so proud of all of our students who in partnership with staff, parents and carers have achieved so well this year. Congratulations on your excellent results and I look forward to welcoming so many students back in September to begin their Post 16 studies with us.”
