Thank you for your continued support with our PE kit policy. Since the start of the Module, students arriving at the academy in their PE kit has really helped to reduce the risk of large numbers of students changing indoors, within close proximity and has also given students significantly longer PE lessons. Generally, the standards that we have set (see below) are being followed:
The Leigh Academy PE standards
All students – Leigh PE polo shirt with college logo
All students – Leigh PE zip sweatshirt/fleece
Girls – Black shorts or black tracksuit bottoms or back leggings
(No short cycling shorts)
Boys – Black shorts or black tracksuit bottoms
All students – Sports trainers or astro turf trainers (No studs)
However, we are still occasionally seeing some students wearing very short cycling shorts, grey jogging bottoms and hoodies. These are not part of the Leigh PE kit and should not be worn. Please can I take this opportunity to remind you of our PE kit policy and emphasise the importance that this is followed. Currently students are potentially walking to and from the academy within the local area in their Leigh Academy PE kit. It is therefore vital that the PE kit policy is adhered to in the same way that our more traditional uniform policy is on the days that students do not have PE.
With the winter on its way I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that when your son/daughter travels to the academy on a PE day in colder weather they should wear plain black tracksuit bottoms, a black Leigh Academy fleece or zip sweatshirt and their coat must also be black or navy blue, in line with The Leigh Academy uniform policy.
