Re: Edenred Free School Meals Voucher Scheme: Module 3 2021
I am sure that you have been made aware of the situation regarding Free School Meal Parcels through various media coverage last week. Schools had been encouraged by the DFE to provide food parcels or meals to eligible children.
As a result, food parcels were ordered from our catering team for the first two weeks of this module. However, whilst it is understood that food parcels may provide good nutrition for our children it is also accepted that under these difficult circumstances, where the risk of virus transmission is very high, it is important that we find a balance to ensure the safety of our children and their families, through minimising unnecessary contact outside of the home.
The Department for Education is now partnering with Edenred to provide £15.00 worth of supermarket vouchers per week for each eligible child, starting from Monday 18th January. These vouchers will be provided to parents in the form of an eCode that you can redeem online from a selection of supermarket ‘eGift cards’ if the academy has a working email address for you.
The Academy has already passed on details of eligible families to Edenred and they will be in direct contact with parents by email with further details. Please check your emails for this email from Edenred, including your junk folders. The vouchers will be issued weekly for the rest of this module, with the last one issued on Monday 8th February.

If you have any concerns about the new scheme which are not answered by Edenred’s website, please contact your daughter/son’s year bubble in the first instance.
