End of Module 3 Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the end of Module 3, I wanted to write and thank you for all your support through these last 5 weeks of lockdown, and give you an overview of next week.

Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th February 2021

Lessons and tutor sessions for all year groups will continue as usual.

Wednesday 10th February 2021

Year 8 HPV vaccinations will take place on site.  NHS have contacted families to arrange appointment times.

Wednesday 10th February 2021

Year 9 Parent Teacher day – (parents will have received details in a separate letter).  Live tutor sessions for all year groups as usual.  In order to enable teachers to attend the virtual appointments throughout the day, there will be no live lessons on this day, but work will be set up on Google Classrooms.  No new work will be set for Year 9 on this day to enable students to attend the appointments with their parents.

Thursday 11th February 2021

Year 9 HPV vaccinations will take place on site.  NHS have contacted families to arrange appointment times.

Thursday 11th February 2021 – Catch-Up and Challenge Day

Live tutor sessions will take place for all year groups. No new work will be set on this day. Students in all year groups are to use this day to ‘catch-up’ with any incomplete work across their subjects, to finish coursework, submit and upload work, and then move onto the Year Group Challenges.   These Challenges range from cooking, being creativity, helping others, sports challenges with the aim to get our young people off the screens for the day and complete a range of different activities.  Students can evidence these with photos and upload them to their tutors/year group leadership team.  Contributions will be judged and prizes given at the start of Module 4.  Details of each Year group Challenges will be shared with students and parents on Monday.

Friday 12th February 2021

This is a scheduled teacher training day, so there will be no tutor sessions or lessons.  Students will begin their end of module break today.  There is no key worker or vulnerable student provision on site on this day nor throughout the half-term.

This is also the deadline for Year 9 students to have completed their GCSE options form.

Module 4

Remote lessons will resume Monday 22nd February for all year groups, who continue to work and learn at home.  Our key worker and vulnerable children provision on site will recommence on that day.

I wish you all a safe and restful end of module break.  I hope you and your families are able to enjoy some sunshine, despite the current restrictions.

Take care and stay safe

Yours faithfully,

Julia Collins
