We have reviewed the assessment and reporting calendar now that students have returned to the academy site and have scheduled formal End of Year (EOY) Assessments between the 21st June – 2nd July 2021. We will be scheduling exactly when subject assessments will be within this window and Subject Leaders will communicate both the timing and topic lists via Google Classroom nearer the time. Assessments will last no longer than 50 minutes and will be completed within timetabled lessons.
The results of these EOY assessments will be shared with parents and carers during the last week of the summer term. In line with our Assessment and Reporting calendar, your daughter/son will be issued with their current grades for all of their GCSE and BTEC subjects at this point.
The outcomes of the Mathematics, English and Science EOY assessments will be used in order to review the ability – based set that your daughter/son will be in at the beginning of Year 11. Should your daughter/son move set, the relevant Director of Learning will communicate this to you. We will continue to prepare students for revision and preparation for these assessments through lessons and tutor time.
We understand that preparing for EOY Assessments could cause worry for some of our students, so please do remind your daughter/son to talk initially to their subject teacher or form tutor if they have any concerns.
We will continue to monitor and adapt our assessment processes in light of future Government updates and as such the details outlined above may be subject to change. We will, of course, communicate any changes in as timely a manner as possible.
Thank you for your continued support during our assessment review.
