Year 10 Work Experience – Week commencing 19th July 2021
Secondly, we wrote to you in January stating that there would be no physical work experience during the last week of Module 6 due to the safety measures imposed by the government. As a result of the relaxing of some of the Covid-19 regulations we can now offer the opportunity to arrange and participate in work experience.
Work experience will give our students an insight into day to day working life. They will have the opportunity to sample a particular career of interest and gain important employability skills. It will also allow students to reflect on their skills and gain an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses. More information will be given to our students in tutor time over the next two weeks.
The placement will take place in the last week of Module 6. It is not compulsory for students to complete work experience but if you have the opportunity and contacts to organise a placement we will support you by carrying out our usual work experience health and safety checks.
As the last week of Module 6 only consists of three days, students may continue their placement into the summer holidays with your consent. These placements will be solely contracted between the parent/carer and the student is responsible for their own wellbeing while away from the academy. Travel and lunch expenses will not be covered by the academy.
Your daughter/son will receive the work experience form in tutor time. Once completed, these must be returned to their Tutor.
