Enhanced Measures Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

Since I wrote to you on Tuesday 21st September, our confirmed COVID-19 case numbers for students has risen by 34 student cases and two staff cases. We are hopeful that this indicates that the enhanced measures we have in place are working to slow down the number of new cases that we have.

I have again today spoken with Public Health England local protection team, who were reassuring that we have taken the right measures. We should continue with these measures and that the number of cases that we have are reflective of the spread in the local area.

I need your help to make sure that your child continues to follow our measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 within the community. Please help us by:

  1. Making sure your child has a clean face mask/covering to wear in the academy and on public transport every day.
  2. Continuing to use the twice weekly LFT home testing and report any positive to info@leighacademy.org.uk
  3. If your child has any COVID-19 symptoms, then keep them at home and book a PCR test.

I want to thank you for your continued support whilst we are in this period of ‘enhanced measures’ and I will continue to keep you updated.

Yours faithfully,

Julia Collins
Principal
