European Week for Languages – Breakfast

Dear Parent/Carer 

The Modern Foreign Languages department would like to give your child the opportunity to further expand their cultural landscape by joining us for an international breakfast on the occasion of the European Week for Languages.  This will allow students to develop their understanding and appreciation of other cultures.  As we are currently unable to travel overseas, we decided to bring the culture directly to our students at The Leigh Academy.  Our restaurant, Cucina will cater a selection of different breakfast items to your child, from France to the United States of America.

We would like to invite every Year 7 student on a college rota system so that they can all experience this culinary opportunity as a community.  The academy day will not be any different, except for tutor time which they will spend in the restaurant on a day indicated below based, on their college.

We aim to develop cultural experiences further in the future by working with other departments so that our students become more internationally minded and successful language ambassadors.

The schedule will be as follows:

• Monday 27^th September 2021 – Chaucer College
• Tuesday 28^th September 2021 – Darwin College
• Wednesday 29^th September 2021 – Da Vinci College
• Thursday 30^th September 2021 – Brunel College
