PE Lessons and Clubs Update

Following on from the ‘Enhanced Measures’ letter from the Principal dated 21^st September, I am writing to clarify some points regarding PE lessons and clubs for the rest of this module.

We are aiming to minimise mixing between year groups and reducing close proximity changing for large numbers of students. The changes will take effect immediately and continue until October half term break.

PE kit policy changes

All students are now to come to the academy in their full Leigh Academy PE kit on the days that they have PE lessons.  If any student is still waiting for their PE top to arrive from SWI they are required to bring a note to explain and will need to bring an alternative PE kit which should ideally be a plain black tee shirt with black shorts and socks.  Additionally, no hoodies or non Leigh Academy tracksuit tops should be worn over the top of their PE kit.  Students are expected to wear their usual black or navy blue academy coat over the top of their PE kit.

Students must still bring their academy bag, equipment and Chromebook every day.

Extra curricular PE clubs

Due to many of our clubs involving mixed year groups and some of them involving students participating in sport in indoor spaces within close proximity to each other, we have decided to restructure our extra curricular activities for the remainder of the module. Please see the new timetable below.  We hope that from next module we can revert back to a full timetable of clubs:
