Today, at The Leigh Academy we have welcomed our students to receive an impressive array of GCSE and Level 2 BTEC results. We are absolutely delighted that our Year 11 students have achieved so highly and the results are testament to their hard work and commitment to their studies, despite the challenges and disruptions of recent years.

Principal, Mrs Julia Collins stated, “Our students have achieved fantastic levels of attainment and we are so proud of them all. These results highlight the resilience and perseverance of our young people who have overcome the significant demands over the course of their studies and shown true Leigh spirit.”

81% of Leigh students achieved a 4 or above in English, with 67% achieving a grade 5 or above. 67% of Leigh students achieved a 4 or above in mathematics, with 43% achieving a grade 5 or above. Students have achieved highly across all subjects, increasing on all measures since 2019, when a full examination season took place.

Languages continue to be particularly successful at The Leigh Academy with 85% of students studying French achieving a grade 4 or above, and 95% of students studying Spanish achieving a grade 4 or above.

Vocational subjects also continue to be exceptionally strong, highlighting our students’ consistent performance across the two years of study, with students in every BTEC achieving multiple Level 2 Distinction* grades, including in health & fitness, health and social care, ICT and engineering.   We also have a high number of grade 9s across a range of subjects including – English, maths, French, Spanish, history and photography.
